Medical student appreciates NLMA bursary

Please accept this letter of thanks. I am deeply honored and grateful to receive a bursary of $1,500 from the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association.

Dear Members:

Please accept this letter of thanks. I am deeply honored and grateful to receive a bursary of $1,500 from the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association. With current tuition costs and insufficient access to student loans, this money was truly needed and couldn’t have come at a better time. You may be assured that it will be used for essentials and that it has already given me some stress relief from my financial woes.
I believe this type of support from the Association is significant and shows a commitment to medical students such as myself. I have set a personal goal of pursuing rural medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador and I am encouraged by your contribution.

Sincerely,

A second-year medical student at Memorial University

The Canadian Medical Association, through its subsidiary MD Management Ltd. and the Canadian Medical Foundation, partners with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association to offer financial assistance to medical students. This joint initiative will enable a limited number of bursaries to be made available to medical students in Newfoundland-funded seats at the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University.
