The Professional Association of Internes and Residents of Newfoundland (PAIRN) has unveiled a completely redesigned and enhanced website with a revitalized appearance and new features.

The NLMA provided PAIRN with IT and communications support to give the former website a much needed overhaul. The new website contains more member-oriented information about services and resources available to PAIRN members as well as expanded information for prospective residents.

“PAIRN is pleased to launch this website, which demonstrates our commitment to remaining active with our members,” said Mairi Chadwick, president of PAIRN.

“The Internet is an integral part of PAIRN’s plan to communicate member activities, timely information and the accomplishments of PAIRN members to the general public. The website also makes it easier for anyone interested in PAIRN to find answers in a clear and user-friendly manner.”

The improved design and user-friendly interface also makes it easier for online visitors to have immediate access to important documents such as the recently ratified PAIRN Collective Agreement, which outlines new salary increases and call stipends for residents.

The content has also undergone significant improvements and updates. It is now much more comprehensive and highlights a wide range of themes including member health, education resources, employment and contractual information, as well as advice for new members beginning their residency.

PAIRN is the official voice for more than 220 postgraduate medical trainees in Newfoundland and Labrador. Members are medical school graduates registered at Memorial University of Newfoundland and completing residency training in hospitals and health care centres throughout the province.
