Judy Hunt, the NLMA’s director of
administrative services, is retiring after 36 years with the
Association.
Ms. Hunt played an immeasurable role in
the NLMA’s efforts to provide professional support and advice to
physicians and other health professionals. She was hired in 1970 by the
NLMA’s first executive director, the late Mr. Gerry Lynch, and for the
next 10 years the two comprised the NLMA’s entire staff.
Ms. Hunt was involved in every aspect of
operations and she watched the NLMA grow from less than 500 members to
more than 1,000 members today. She is only the second person to ever
retire from the NLMA and has worked there longer than any other employee
in the Association’s history.
“Judy has made a lasting impact on the
NLMA and has been an integral part of its success,” says President Dr.
Terry O’Grady. “The Association was undergoing a particularly
challenging period when Judy began working with the NLMA and she helped
build it into the healthy and successful association it is today. While
we are saddened by her leaving us, we wish her well and hope she enjoys
her retirement.”
Ms. Hunt says her time at the NLMA has
been a wonderful experience and that it will be hard to leave a job that
she loves. However, she is looking forward to traveling and spending
more time with family.
