FAQs
Categories/Fees
- Is there a part-time
category? No, because of the challenge in defining and
monitoring part-time status, a part-time category is not
offered.
- Is there a
maternity
or parental
leave category? Yes, any Full category member currently
not practicing due to pregnancy, birth or adoption, to a maximum of one year from the
date of birth or adoption, may qualify for the
Maternity/Parental
Leave category.

Is there
a sick leave
category?
Yes, any Full category member currently not practicing due to health
reasons, may qualify for the
Sick
Leave category.

If my membership
category changes during the year, will I incur additional fees?
While changes in membership category are immediately
reflected in your record, additional fees are not incurred for
the balance of the year. However, applicable refunds are issued.
For example, Student members entering residency are not
required to pay the Resident fee until the following year.
Payments
- What forms of payment are
accepted? Payment may be made by VISA, MasterCard, American
Express, cheque, or cash. Payment by Interac or debit is not
available.
- How long do I have to
request a refund?
Refunds must be requested within three (3) months of your change
in membership status. For example, within three months of leaving the
province or going on maternity/parental
leave.
