Promotion Patient-Centred Practice Get the most from your doctor's visit The NLMA, in consultation with the GP Section, and based on the results of a survey of family physicians, has developed a physician resource kit to help improve patient-doctor communication. Kits have been mailed to all GP/FPs across the province. The kit includes a brochure and poster designed to be displayed in your clinic for patients to educate them about making the most of their office visit, while helping physicians manage issues that may impact on clinic efficiency. Materials feature guidance for such topics as urgent care protocol, how to communicate symptoms, and booking appointments among other issues. Included in the kit is a list of Quick Tips for physicians to use as a reference. Also available are Quick Tips for reception staff and a patient form for listing symptoms and questions. Additional copies of all materials are available in the sidebar or by contacting the NLMA Office. |
