A
number of you have contacted the NLMA with questions about accessing
additional personal protective equipment as supplies are depleted in
your offices. The Department of Health, through the regional health
authorities, has made some personal protective equipment available
to physicians’ offices for the care of patients with potential H1N1
influenza illness.

Posted February 12, 2010 Eastern Health wishes to advise the
public that effective Monday,
February 15, the H1N1 vaccine will only be available by
booking an appointment at any local community health office in the
Eastern region, between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Locations and phone numbers for the local community health offices
are included below in the
Backgrounder. The H1N1 vaccination information line number is
752-4358 or 1-877-752-4358. For health-related questions including
H1N1 pandemic influenza inquiries, please call the HealthLine:

Posted February 4, 2010 Eastern Health advises the public
that next week will be the last opportunity to receive the H1N1
vaccine at the mass immunization clinic located at
Suite 203 Outpatient Services, 35 Major’s Path.
The clinic will be open on a walk-in basis, Monday, February 8th -
Friday, February 12th, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day. As of Monday,
February 15th, the H1N1 vaccine will be available only by booking an
appointment at any local community health office in the Eastern
region between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Monday, February 1st - Friday, February 5th, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

the local community health office between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.,

Mass Immunization Clinics Open to General
Public
November 20, 2009
Effective immediately, all
individuals will be eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine, the
Honourable Jerome Kennedy, Minister of Health and Community
Services, announced today. Students in Grades 10 to 12 will receive
the vaccine beginning next week within the school system, where
possible.

In October 2009, WHO convened an international
consultation represented by all WHO Regions, in Washington, DC, USA,
to revise the guidance on clinical management of patients with
pandemic (H1N1) 2009 virus infection. Experts in public health,
laboratory science, pathology, and clinical care came together to
review the published evidence to date and to share unpublished data.
This document incorporates the knowledge made available to WHO and
updates previous WHO guidance.
