OMA Insurance survey deadline extended to March 13

New! Deadline March 13, 2010
The OMA Insurance plans have been endorsed by all four Atlantic provincial medical association/societies as a membership benefit for over thirty years.

It is important that we elicit member input and to accomplish this, we have developed a comprehensive online survey that will help ascertain to what extent OMA Insurance offerings meet your personal and practice needs. Please note, we want your feedback whether or not you currently have insurance under the OMA plans.

The Strategic Counsel, a nationally recognized market research firm, will administer the online survey on our behalf. All the information provided will be strictly confidential, and responses provided to the OMA will not in any way be attributed to you personally. Please be assured that no one will contact you as a result of your responses in this survey.

We estimate it will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

As a gesture of appreciation, upon completion survey participants will be eligible to enter into a draw to win one of three prizes:

  1. $750 Air Canada voucher
  2. $500 Air Canada voucher
  3. $250 Air Canada voucher

Reminder for billing non-insured services - 80% premium on 2009 MCP fees
Posted January 12, 2010
The NLMA Physician’s Guide to Billing Non-insured Services (PDF) recommends that non-insured services rates should be calculated by increasing the current MCP rates by 80 per cent (i.e. current MCP rate x 80% = NLMA N.I.). The current MCP Payment Schedule rates are effective April, 2009 and the 2009 MCP Payment Schedule can be downloaded from MCP’s website. Please ensure that your billing clerks are aware of this process and are using the 2009 MCP Payment Schedule as the base to calculate non-insured services rates.
